E-COURT

An E- court or Electronic Court  is a place in which there is formal judgment is given  on a disputed matter of law  by the judges who are qualified and that place should be well designed and developed and good technical infrastructure.


OBJECTIVES :

 It is to be providing efficiency in timing so that the time would be less consumed as compared to Original courts . It is mainly to develop, implementing the decision which is to be taken in courts  and act as a support systems in courts just like the ratio decidendi  precedent depending upon the outcome and circumstances of the case and to enhance the judicial  activity so to make the justice and judgement  more reliable , accessible and more predictable. The main objective is to install of video conferencing so  that the recording of witness can be done in  a proper way as  it connects all courts in the country. It also provides the facility of  electronic  filing which mainly includes  1. File case from home  2. Online court fee payment 3. Case Status update , e- payment and use of mobile application in all courts.

This developed technical infrastructure is mainly designed to allow the parties , participants to better operate some administrative and procedural aspects of the court’s function and duties such as presenting evidence , filing judicial records or receiving testimony which is essential ingredients of finding the crux of case.

It’s one of the important objective is to reduce the hard- copy document or reliance on paper during the proceeding of judiciary , this focus on paperless court and expediting the access to information.


SERVICES :

It is possible to see information of all judges in the State about their disposal, type of cases they dispose, and the data is open for comparative analysis . It is possible to select only District Judges or senior or Junior Judges or all through this.


MOBILE APPLICATIONS:

There are various mobile apps used for this such as

1.E-Courts Services Mobile Application

2. JustIS Mobile App - A mobile Application specially designed for Judicial Officers

3. NSTEP Mobile App - A Mobile Application specially designed for Bailiffs

The decision of E-Courts is decided by E-Committee. Unique Establishment Codes to each court establishment is the fundamental decision by e-committee which laid foundations for the projects.

  • There are three types of Criminal cases :
  • 1.      Warrant cases
  • 2.      Summon cases
  • 3.      Petty cases

But according to the mobile Application it can be identified that is these three types are bifurcated in different case or in single case. In some of the states there is distinction of warrant and summon but traffic challans and sundry cases are also registered as Summon cases. In some of the states they do not have the distinction in case type as warrant and summons but they do not  have distinction in case type on the strength of filed by police or private. 

Conclusion:

Judicial officials should possess the adequate knowledge of digital communication to the effective implementation this system so that the effective judgment and decision can be taken. Through E-Court digital payment it is convenient and easy to use and instant receipt by securing the payment. Its mainly use for court fee, judicial deposit , fine and penalty.
